New Patient Notice

Some GPs are currently accepting new patients. Please call the practice on 9997 4441 to book your appointment.

In order to get started with us, you will need to secure an appointment with one of the GPs first. You will then need to fill out a New patient registration form  and either email it to us or bring it to your first appointment.

You will also need to fill out a request form for the transfer of your previous medical records. We also have copies of this form on our premises.

For your first appointment, please call us at 9997 4441 to schedule a time.

After your initial consultation, you will be able to make appointments using our online booking tool. Please allow at least 40 minutes for your first appointment and bring a health summary from your previous practice to help facilitate a smooth transition to our practice.

If you would like your full medical records transferred, please fill out this form and send to your old practice.

Below are a few frequently asked questions that you may be wondering about. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us by phone (9997 4441) or email (info@newportdoctor.com.au) to get in touch with your regular doctor.

Results and Recalls

At Newport Doctor we have a clear and reliable system for managing your test results and follow-up care, so that nothing is missed.

How your results are managed: When your results arrive, they are reviewed by your doctor (not by reception staff). Your doctor will determine whether your results require no further action, non-urgent follow-up, or urgent follow-up, and you will be notified accordingly. For privacy and safety reasons, our reception team cannot give out test results over the phone.

SMS notifications: We use a secure SMS system to let you know when your results are ready and whether you need to return for a follow-up appointment. Please allow five business days to receive an SMS update after your test. If your doctor has ordered more than one test, please note that you may not receive a notification until all results have been received and reviewed together. If any result requires urgent attention, we will contact you directly – so please make sure your mobile number and contact details are always up to date.

Getting a copy of your results: You are also welcome to request a copy directly from the practice. Please note we can only assist with requests for tests performed more than 3 business days ago, to ensure the tests are back and to allow time for your doctor to review them.

Recalls and reminders: We are committed to preventative care. From time to time you may be contacted through our automated SMS reminder system regarding repeat tests, immunisations, or routine health screening that is due. If you would prefer not to receive these reminders, please let our reception team know.

Important: Test results and SMS reminders are not a substitute for urgent care. If you feel unwell or your symptoms worsen, please book an appointment or, in an emergency, call 000.
